Sorry, I thought everyone had been fully informed at club level about this site especially as it has a membership benifits section http://www.englandgolf.org/members/ which is free and gives club members update handicap info n their handicap and the chance of winning monthly prizes.

Your club is letting you down. You can even get GM at a reduced rate

Then you will know that sloping is not a done deal, the max handicaps being proposed for next year how handicaps are slewed in favour of which handicaps etc etc etc.

For £15 I felt I had good value.

Nope. Get my handicap from HDID and crack on. What does me playing all the time have to do with anything. No idea where I get a CDH number or what it is. As long as my handicap is updated by the club (and they print a certificate if I require one) I'm happy. Not aware of Golf England either before today. Never had any need to use it. Doubt I'm alone

Your handicap could be more up to date on the EG site (used to be EGU) than on HDID. Handicap certificates are supposed to be things of the past. When you attend an open or visit another course you give your CDH No and they can check your up to date handicap from their. By registering on the site you can print of your CDH No or get it from your club.

EG is universal whilst HDID only works with clubs on Club Systems software.

But I play 99% of my golf at my own club and they update each after each qualifying round so why wouldn't it be right? Even if it isn't, it'll be the one that comes up when I sign into PSI before each comp

What affiliation fee? All wrapped up in a total cost package anyway. Still don't see how the handicap would be any different. Makes zero difference to me

Something else you have found out then. Part of your fees go to county and EG as affiliation fees. Unless your not affiliated that is.

Your CDH number is probably printed on your handicap certificate. You are 11.8 on the CDH
