Guess golf is luckier than most sports in that we don't have to power floodlights, sports halls or gyms. Hopefully the impact on membership fees won't be too much. I can drink by candlelight if needs be......

I wouldn't know how the annual budget of running a golf club breaks down, but pretty much everything they buy will go up in cost - and it's inevitable that some of those costs wil be passed on to the punter.

We've just got our electricity bill for last month - we used pretty much the same amount of energy as June, and it's tripled in cost. (Spain)

We have a very large solar panel display on top of our driving range roof and another on top of the clubhouse roof.

We do have flood lights for the driving range.

Biggest increase which affects us will probably be fuel for all the greenkeepers vehicles.

Fuel costs for the green keeping equipment, electricity to light the clubhouse seven days a week for long hours, gas for the kitchen. It all adds up and so we'll have to see what impact it has on subs next year
