It's that time of year again to review your season to see if you have reached your targets or failed miserably. Has it been an A+ or an F- season? Handicap targets, competition results, courses played achieved?

Don't have targets as such

But would have my season as an A

Consolidated being cat 1 by reducing HC down to 4

Won a couple of medals , had two level par comp rounds in board comps shame was beaten into second both times but overall my consistency in comps i have been happy with and think I'm in with a fair crack of winning the Grand Prix

And have added even more to my course list and loved every one

Royal St Georges
Swinley Forest
Hankley Common
Woodhall Spa Hotckin
Hollinwell

Five courses in my top ten that I managed to play this year

Overall it's been a year I have enjoyed on the course

Im the same as Phil i don't set targets but would consider my season as a B

Handicap came down from 14 to 12

Won our winter eclectic for the first time in 7 years its been going.

Played some cracking new courses in

Waterville
Tralee
Dooks
Dingle Links
Tain.

I missed a bit of the season and played thru it ,a badly infected knee which took over 8 weeks to fully heel would swell up and get very painful ,proper tablets sorted it eventually

Only play golf with a society. So no official handicap, yet.

But I'm chuffed with this year. Id give it an A-

Handicap with society and with record of recording them has gone from 26 to 14. Have won 4 from nine meets. With 3 other top 3's. Played a few courses that I've had planned for a while. Highlights being pars on the 10th and 18th of the Brabazon.

Only blemish being that that the captains weekend was where I hit my worst three society scores of the year.

Started playing golf just over 12 months ago, would give myself a B for 2016.

Joined a club and got my first handicap of 23, 2 months later it is still 23.

Played a lot, usually 2 rounds and range/practice ground twice a week too.

Still not happy at all with my swing and changing it weekly...suffering with over the top which even with lessons I have had, not been able to fix.

On the positive my last 5 or so rounds have all been sub 95, still have not broke 90.

C for me in my first full season.

I did target getting down to 18 having started the year on 25, but I'm still there. However, as the season went on my scoring became far more consistent so hopefully can kick on from there next year.

F for me, struggled with the unmentionables and injuries.

Played some amazing courses in the Trump meet.
Hoping to get injury free and actually work on my last lesson, but unfortunately that doesn't look like happening soon :temper:

A for me
Handicap down from 3 to 2
Won club championship and county champion of champions
Part of county team that won the east division but we only managed third at the county finals
Didn't play as many different courses as usual but some crackers in there like Birkdale, Royal Troon, Loch Lomond and Trump
Only real downside was my driving went completely to pieces and I felt I've been struggling off the tee all year. Think the handicap would be much lower if I'd been able to keep driving as I have been over the last few years. Frustrating that everything else improved but the strongest part of my game went AWOL.

A hectic year on so many levels. New job in January meant changing clubs. The job is good but hectic, the club was disappointing and I moved on at the end of June. Very much enjoying the new course, and great members. The golf looked like it was going to be good but a freak injury at the beginning of May saw me miss 8 weeks golf, and the first pain free round was yesterday.

A couple of second places, and the handicap going from 5.6 to 5.4 and then climbed to 5.7 suggests a reasonable year under the circumstances.

B- probably.

B+ I think.

Played some great new courses, The Old Course being the highlight; my h/c hasn't gone up at a time when I don't feel like I'm playing great, so that's a bonus; and I won the Singles matchplay.

Only downsides are that I don't feel like I played enough and that I don't feel like I've been playing as well as I maybe could. Driving, which is usually sound, has deserted me this year.

But it's been alright, man.

Z minus for me. Have been injured all year, and every round has been a slog. Handicap has gone up, havent played as much as I would like, every round has been garbage, zero practice. It all adds up to a rubbish year better forgotten.

Next year please.

D for me..
No cuts, only a few buffers and the handicap a shot higher.
Few really good rounds, plenty of dire ones.
Tennis Elbow on my left side hasn't helped - it restricts my back swing so the rest has been cobbled together
Played some nice courses and enjoyed almost every minute but the quality of the Golf hasn't been good.

D. Nice cut.to 11.8 early in the season followed by 10 .1s and then anot additional increase of .5 taking me to.13.3 and higher than I started the year. Last 5 rounds have been to handicap or better including today in 25mph winds. One simple swing change was all it took.

The good news is I'm dangerous off my handicap for the winter league.

I would have my season graded as a U, ungraded as it has totally fallen apart the last few weeks. Gone from hardly missing a fairway, to now hitting my rescue off the tee just to keep it in play. My handicap has gone up from 1.6 to 3.2 and now I struggle to break 80, where a couple of months ago I was gutted if I shot 75 .

Today I shot a fantastic 83, but there was light at the end of the tunnel. Birdie on 16, nearly aced 17 and missed an eagle putt on 18, so if it hadn't been for the last 3 holes it would have been 86

A- for me
Smashed target of 19 for the year to 16.5 and done ok in competitions winning a few comps and runner up in a couple too.

Just fell at the final hurdle a few times in some of the bigger comps but gives me aim for next year.

Also lacked consistency and scores could vary by as many as 16 strokes so looking for tighten up that aspect.

With a lot of family problems from Xmas to may this was never going to be a good season. I got out, enjoyed playing with no targets. Roll on next year

I think an A- for me.

Put together my best run of Stableford scores early in the year and finished second in the winter league. Suffered a bit of a slump before bouncing back with a 2nd place in a club team event, a win in a pairs stableford, my first divisional medal win, won the club away day and won the first day of our final 2 day comp. Also had some decent showings in works golf society comps and friendly matches.

All this led to 4 shots off the hcap - was up to 28 when the run began, now off 24.

Also so played some great and good courses - Huddersfield Fixby (my new home club) early in the year, Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin and Bracken), Howley Hall and Cookridge Hall.

Only downside was was an end of season drop off in form, which came out of nowhere, but a few weeks playing less followed by me now getting stuck into lessons and practice will sort that!

Overall a a good year and hoping I can do similar or better next year.

Rubbish. Not played enough, gone up 1, would probably have been 2/3 if I'd played more......but there again I may have played better if I'd played more. There's a thought for next season. The one highlight was my best round being enough to pick up a prize in our Presidents Comp.

Trips to Aberdeen (Trumps place, Murcar, Cruden and Carnoustie) St Andrews (Old, Jubilee, Castle and Lundin), Bournemouth (Ferndown, Parkstone and Broadstone) and Deal (Cinque Ports and Royal St Georges) so not all bad. Great courses and even better company. Apart from Aberdeen actually played some decent golf on the trips.

Trip to Woodhall will live in the memory the longest though. My golf was rubbish, but my partner was the best.
