Looking back over the last few months of playing in competition and playing different courses in opens i am fairly happy with my game this year. I have found a putter i like have been driving the ball well and all round my golf has been reasonble.

I also reached my target handicap which i think is a big part of any amateur golfers season.

How has your game been this year and have you reached your handicap target???

Not the best season for me - didn't reach my aim of single figures but there's still time. One good round and all that.

I may have a lesson in the new year to try and sort out my iron play.

Unless Padraig's irons come good........

Only started playing. Don't have a handicap yet but it's going to be high. Best round so far is 114. My aim is to try and break 100 as soon as possible and then look to improve next year.

Disapointing season, 0.2 increase after targeting getting down to 2 although it was going to be a tough ask. Putted badly all year but it did come good towards the end of the season. Problem was a technical issue that I knew about but it was difficult making the change to iron it out and also chopped and changed putters too often.
Need to play more over the winter to keep the game ticking over (have not played at all last few winters)and hit the ground running next spring with the same target as this year

Decent enough season for me :D

Started season off 10.3, hit my initial target of single figures quite early in season getting down to 8.7 but since then i have been a model of inconsistency and have had a lot of .1s back and also a few cuts so sitting at 9.2 at minute.

So overall a 1.1 cut and down to single figures, im happy enough with that :D

I started the season on 13 with a target of 10.5'ish by the last competition. I am now 11.4 and Sunday is the last one so I'm not sure whether to be pleased or not. I did have a new hip during last winter and the start of the season was also weather affected - so, all in all - probably good

Played 4 medal rounds and 2 of them were scrambles, all down to working weekends, now things are quieter the course is a swamp. H/cap stayed the same :D

Best season since i came back to the game. Handicap cut from 12 to 9 which was my main aim. Also got my name on the honours board for the Winter Foursomes, and won a monthly stableford and two seconds in medals. Played for the club as well which was very enjoyable.

Only disappointment is that just as i was playing my best golf, i managed to injury my back and haven't played for the last 3 weeks. :(

This is only my 1st season at our club and if im completely honest with myself i have to be happy......I had a bad leg injury through football that saw me not play golf for nearly the 1st 7 months of the season I spent nearly 4 months in a cast.....I started with a handicap of 21 and im now down to 15.8 exact.....Iv had a nett 70 and a nett 71 both PB's and both in medals strangely enough and have won 3 comps and iv had one 2nd place finish being beaten on a countback......
Iv also changed my Irons twice this season.......Which has more thanlikely part contributed to a little of my inconsistency.

Roll on next season so i can mak a proper stab at the handicap.

Started this season at 19.8 now down to 11.8 so must be happy although.............within that I have had 21 0.1's back, but won one of our major comps and plenty of wednesday and sunday placings too, I also changed nearly every club in my bag so think that held me back of reaching my aim of single figures although I still have loads of time left to achieve this. All in all happy with myself but still can improve more!!!!

Happy with the season. Started 5.4 with the target to avoid more 0.1's and stay in Cat 1. Certainly have had more buffer zones this year but had still crept up to 6.0 but still felt I had a good round in me. Last week I managed a nett 66 to take me down to 5.3 and win a board comp to boot. Only one comp to go before the winter season starts so will stay off 5 too. Objectives achieved - just !!

I have done well.

I was home for 7 weeks in the summer, Which is very very rare for me so it was golf golf golf and i managed to get from 5.3 down to 3.2 in them 7 weeks and thats with going up 0.6 within that 7 weeks aswell with the odd bad round.

Complete swing change for next season and hoping to get down to 2

I'm happy with the year in general.
I've been more consistent, and a lot better on the greens.
My target for the year was 6, my coach's target for me was 5. So I've reached that.
I have won my first comp' at this club and will play the Champions Trophy next weekend.
Played once for the scratch team, I lost but played to my handicap (away from home).
I scored well when I played poorly (except Beau Desert) which is a real sign of improvement.

I enjoyed this year on the golf course. Apart from illness and injury in June and Aug/Sept i played well.
Had some great games with friends on some really enjoyable golf courses and already looking forward to some winter games on some good links courses.

Glad you've had a good year Screwback , tough off your handicap so you must have played some excellent golf at times.

My year has been superb from June onwards , before that as many of you know it was in the doldrums and a complete bag of spanners. A mid season piece of self councilling and a big change in attitude has turned this into a season to remember.

After drifting out to 5.4 it all came together and have just reached my lowest ever h/c and my seasons goal of 3.3

Along with this i've won 5 honours board comps , unprecented in the clubs history by all accounts. Club champion , singles h/c matchplay champ and OOM title along with 2 others.

Played at Walton Heath to represent GM (new Ping driver is superb btw) and have played plenty of opens and all told about 30 rounds at other courses this year with most being courses i havnt played before.

Now looking forwrd to not having a care in the world over the winter and getting out once a week to knobble it round for some exercise

Couldn't of wished for a better season, started the season at 15, now down to 5, this being the second golf season for me, and the first solely concentrating on golf. Can shoot under-par regulary and the only thing keeping me back at the moment is alignment, swinging it as best as I ever have.

Still got a few comps left but roll on next season!

Notice you play at Hankley Common. Five handicap around there is good. I play at Blackmoor so if you fancy a game let me know. Know a few members at Hankley.

15 - 5 is some going !!! Well done.

Ive had a good year over all, probably my most consistent by far, and although I havent reached my goal of getting to 9 again, I'm still within reac with a medal to go tomorrow.

Won a Club Matchplay Comp, so name on the Board again in Gold letters, so gotta be happy with that.

Most importantly, had some superb summer evening knocks, with a beer afterwards, - happy days.
Thats what its all about.

Pretty good for me this season. Main target was single figures after beginning at 10.
Down to 8.2 so that one's covered.
I've played quite a bit, scored pretty well and won a couple of comps.
Only target missed was playing more new courses. Might try and get a couple of away days this month and next.
Most importantly, I'm playing well and enjoying my golf
