Been using a few android based emultors for classic gaming. On the Galaxy Tab I have NES, SNES and Mega Drive emulators as well as a Commodore 64 and N64 ones on my phone.
Modern games are great and realsitic as hell but for me nothing is quite the same as 16-Bit Mario Kart or 8-Bit Castlevnia.

Currently playing Gryzor (Contra) on the NES and Sreet Fighter 2 on the SNES, takes me back to my yoof.

Have a zx spectrum and Commodore 64 emulator on PC

Play manic miner and jet set willy :D

Funny this, was chatting to one of the apprentices Friday at work about old games.

We were talking about Jet Set Willy, manic minor and Elite, classic old games he had not heard of any of them made me feel very old

grew up playing these- never ever completed the 20 levels of manic miner but loved the game

got a link so I can play it again? maybe my BF4 skills will help me beat that willy:smirk:

Most of those games are best left alone or you'll spoil the memory.

Just Google play manic miner and there are a number of websites you can play it on

Emulators are great and android provides one of the best platforms for them to be mobile. There are a few apps you can get which allow the use of bluetooth game controllers for the emulator.

A TV out cable and the controller can lead to a great experience via the phone or tablet. The Wii nuchuck worked really well with megadrive games for me, especially desert strike and it's sequels.

Didn't need emulators when I had this set up.

Still have all the consoles boxed up a ready for when I move house. In the meantime emulators will help satisfy my retro fixes.

Recently found my Amiga in my Mam's loft. Amazingly it still works after 20+ years of non use. Had the lads round last week for a Sensible World of Soccer tournament. Unbelievable gameplay meant the ropey graphics are quickly forgotten. Found all the other old classics too; Monkey Island(all 9 discs), Civilisation, Champ Manager, Prince of Persia etc etc.

I still have my n64. So many hours spent playing multiplayer. Online gaming is great these days but it was hard to beat four people around a telly shouting their heads off.
