Sending application form of for employment and volunteering at the open. Jobs are storing competitors golf bags, carrying BBC equipment inside the ropes, assisting ESPN in spotting balls, selling cameras binoculars and logging live golf within TV compound. Any one done this before?

There were a couple of forumers would have done similar before.
Think one was a marshal on a fairway crossing and another lad got to carry a groups scoreboard around.
Good luck.

Anthony (TXL) is a regular Marshall when Tour events are held over here.
I guess he's going to Hoylake, almost certain he's doing the RC….

Ian, not doing The Open, though I know a few guys that do. Will be at Gleneagles aswell as Wentworth (BMW), Royal Porthcawl (Senior Open) and The Buckinghamshire (Ladies event). Possibly also the Portugal Masters and maybe the World Matchplay.

I've got an application in to be a "mind your car, mister" kidder - I reckon I'll earn more money that way.;)

Done it last year at Muirfield. Some of the jobs take you away from the action so be prepared. However, you should only be doing a 6 hour shift or so. That should give you plenty time to view the action. Getting paid to watch golf can't be that bad.
