Ladies and gents,

I know the thread on this had been done a lot , but if buying one would you save till you could afford the best you could or pick up something cheaper ?

Also if buying 2nd hand are there certain things to look for with brands?

Cheers

Maybe not relevant to you, but next time i get one it will be an ex hire from either Castle Stuart or Nairn.

The Nairn ones mayne only get used a dozen or so times and then get sold off, always a bargain as well.

I had not thought of ex hire ones, cheers for that mate

Patrick, out of interest, not being sarky here, what would you define as a bargain. Is it a £450 trolley down to £300 or £250 or £150? This has been mentioned as a good option a few times recently but I don't think I have seen anyone ever put a price on these trolleys once they are moved on. Really interesting as an option, potentially. Thanks

If your interested in motocaddy trolleys then you could keep an eye on the pre-owned section on their site. They have both pre-owned and ex-demo that have been refurbished and come with a warranty. Decent way to get a good, used trolley with some peace of mind.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I have an S1 lite but would like to upgrade to electric. I can't justify new at the moment and that seems a good option.

Im the same, they seem a huge expense to buy new and cant justify it. I keep an eye on that page but Im waiting for a certain model to be available - hopefully it wont be the same one you want! They dont have anything on there at the moment but it gets updated as and when they get stuff - it doesnt hang around long though.

Not sure what price the CS ones went for, but a couple of guys i know had the last lot of Motocaddy S1 with 18 hole lithium and they went for £175. and i doubt they even had been used more than a few times.

I was in the same situation last year.

I found most of the 2nd hand ones were battered and were just going to be a headache further down the road.

I bought a brand new one from eBay, a Pro rider. Quick delivery, excellent aftersales and never let me down once.

I've just purchased a new trolley. I went in open minded looking at the powakaddy range. Top of ramge had colour screen USB port for charging phone or GPS but in the end I plumped for the basic model because at the end of the day i only need it to move my bag.

I used to scour the Motocaddy site almost every night when I was in the market for a new trolley.
Was looking for a M1 Pro Lithium 18 hole model.

Didn't see one come up for sale. Come to think of it, didn't see any of the others come up for sale either at the time!

In the end Mrs Basher took pity and spoiled me with a brand spanking new one. Exactly what I wanted. One of my better birthdays! Not the cheapest trolley out there but by buying new you have the peace of mind that you are getting a full warranty should any dramas arise.

Our pro always sells his Motocaddy rentals at the end of every season. He gives some decent deals. Someone local to you may do the same.

Same here, I bought a new S1 from Sherwood Forest but he said that they always sell off the S1s they have on hire at the end of the season. He said some were not used that much at all, so if you time it right you could get a bargain.

Nothing like buying a nice new one, I couldn't make my mind up between the top of the range Powakaddy and the new Motocaddy S1pro DHC so I brought both used them for a few weeks and kept the one I liked best.

Thanks for this advice mate, picked one up today from local course with lithium battery for a decent price.
