Help please....

Looking at 2nd hand Motocaddy S1 - not the new digital and it has an 18 hole battery with an option for a 27 hole battery. Does anyone know how far these things go on an 18 hole battery? I have an extra 1/2 mile trek to and from the course and the car park so if it gives up the ghost after 18 I'll have to push it back.

Also, I assume this is a decent trolley as they sponser the Europro Tour?? Am I right? Budget is a bit tight and this S1 is £169 with full service and new battery. Does that price sound ok??

S1 is a good trolley, totally silent (no motor noise like some). Folds easy.
Battery lasts well over 18 holes, I've used it on 18 when it's only been on charge a short while and light still red.

Have mentioned if before but have a look at a GoKart. Great trolley, easy to fold, light and unbeatable customer service.

How long will a battery last? this is equivalent to asking how long is a piece of string.

There are dozens of factors involved; how old is the battery, how often has it been charged, has it been charged properly, was it fully discharged before charging. how much of a load are you carrying, what's the course like, hilly, wet etc, what's the temperature, how good is the motor, the gearing.
this site will give you some info, there is another I've seen that suggests that the 18- 27-hole and charge ratings are based on 'occasional' use (ie once/twice a week) - there is no industry standard measure

http://www.golfbatteryshop.co.uk/golfbatteryinformation.php

Generally, an 18-hole battery should be good for more than 18 - but not continuously; a 27 should be good for an infrequent 36 - provided the battery is charged/discharged properly.

Do you have one then?

I'm looking at one for myself. It looks great value at £200, and I like the lack of metal tubing as I believe that the paint flakes off, and that would look naff.

Always a bit cautious when a company has great customer service as just how much of it have they had to give? ie. a lot of problems with the product.

Be glad to hear any opinions.

Also read a lot of bad stuff about the S1 on reviewcentre or something like that.

I have had a GoKart for over a year now, pretty much since they first came out.

Nothing sinister about the customer service. When I say it is good I am referring to things such as a full refund if not happy within 30 days, if there is a fault they pick it up, fix it and give you a loaner and deliver it back at no cost.

I have had one problem with my GoKart. Basically they volunteered to fit their latest motor free of charge and that developed a fault. I sent and email to Sandy at GoKart and had a brand new one on my doorstep within 48 hours. That is what I mean by good customer service.

As for the Kart itself, it is sturdy, light, folds up small and folds up and down in seconds with no need for battery connectors etc.

As you can guess, I am quite impressed with this product and this company.
