Anyone had the update today and had a look through it?

I am not quite sure if I am a fan of the new layout and style. Seems they have changed something that was perfectly fine to start with. Just need to deal with servers and downtime in my opinion.
 
Really wonderful to see that you can enter scores directly now from New Zealand, South Africa and the Philippines - this will be a great help to handicap committees across the country!

I was at an EG seminar in February 2022 where they said that they would be prioritising direct score entry (or interoperability) from countries which are most played by UK golfers starting with Spain and Portugal.
 
Yep, struggling to get it to fully load. It’s probably because everyone has received the email and is currently trying to update and access it at the same time!

However, they have added the ‘playing handicap calculator’ that I discussed on here a while ago, and followed that up with an email to them suggesting the change. They replied saying it would be considered in future updates, so you have me to thank or blame for that!!

Spain, Portugal, etc. are being prioritised, but it's a very different job to the much easier task of enabling scores from countries that are using the same software (dotgolf).
As such, I'd expect Australia to be one of the next to be added as they recently migrated to dotgolf.

I also expect enabling any country involves a huge match-up and clean-up job due to all the rubbish course data entered by clubs!
 
I don't really get the need to change the layout, fonts, colours etc.
Before, it was easy to see your counting scores as there a big bold green blob surrounding the number...now there's a pale green flag next to it...don't see the improvement tbh..
Changing Friends to Golfers....huh?
No doubt we'll get used to it but it seems like change for changes sake....
 
Mine hasn't updated yet, I'll try and avoid the update at all costs. 😆

It's not like it was perfect before though, I've always had to flick between the tabs a few times in order to get one to load.

Well considering it was at the same seminar that they said geo fencing of attesters was imminent and time limiting scorecard creation of GP cards to daylight hours was going to happen and the fact that this was over 4 years ago, I take any promises with a large pinch of salt. Especially ones that would help educate golfers or really ease the workload of handicap volunteers.

Was that not already there? How was your version different to the existing one? (I can't get the app to work right now)

Wales Golf sent their email yesterday and same issue. But it is ok now.

Not sure if core changes are the same.

On WG, they have made your top 8 scores less obvious. A wee green flag next to the score and colour. Whereas before the score was in a blocked out coloured circle.

The line under number 20 could be thicker too🤣🤣🤣

No, it was just course handicap on the old version. This one allows you to change the percentage based on the competition, ie, 95% for individual comps and shows the course and playing handicap.
 
Not the App but the website has also updated, love how you can now see what are comp, general, 4 ball scores.

Just need to allow you to see more than 5 scores on a page, endless clicking for no reason. If there has to be a limit, at least make it 20
