Eek a mouse!...... or ten million

The cats will be as fat as Garfield within days and wont be able to move to catch the mice o_O.

Even an all you can eat buffet becomes too much eventually.
Cats don’t eat mice they just like playing with them before they kill them.
I saw on the news it’s partly due to Aussies killing the snakes that control the numbers.
Also a bumper harvest.
Must be horrible.

so Snakes or Mice what a choice.

Think you need to come have a chat with my cat then. Regularly find her in the garden with a half devoured mouse carcass.

The same cat that tried to bring pheasants through the cat flap would also leave me presents on my pillow. I'd often return from work to find 3 or 4 mouse heads lined up on my pillow with a very proud looking cat sitting there to greet me. I think the record was 7 one day. No idea where the bodies were, I'd just get the heads.

Our cat played with them like a Great White Shark plays with a seal. They usually died of shock rather than outright mauling....though occasionally we would come down stairs in the morning to find half a mouse in the middle of the living room.

I'll choose staying in England

You are right, horrible stuff.

My previous two cats would sadly play with them and then eat them. We managed to save a few but often their hearts gave way through shock. At least they were able to die quietly in a corner rather than being mauled. (at one point we lived near a barn that was a haven for mice. We would return a mouse there if we could get it before the cats finished them off but when we would go back to check they would often be there still, rigid)

Our cat has a habit of bringing in mice completely unharmed and letting them go. (We think perhaps he wants a pet of his own).
The mouse will then take up residence behind the fridge. For sustenance, the mouse will come out and steal food from the cat's bowl. It was a pain having to regularly pull out the fridge to catch the mice. One time I pulled the fridge out and a family of 5 scurried out. I guess the cat must have brought in a pregnant female.

Since we moved to Devon he's not done it. Either he hasn't yet found a suitable source, or the Devon mice are too tough for him to tackle.
