Eden or Carlisle

Out of the two, which would you play and why would you pick it over the other?

Interested in opinions, but only for these 2 courses rather than alternatives in the area that may be better, i.e. Silloth etc.

In that case Carlisle would get my vote.

easy- Carlisle, mature, great Clubhouse, excellent greens, good food, proximity to motorway. Challenging and different holes with good views

dont know about Carlisle, but eden is "sterile".

Agree with this. Carlisle is the easy choice.

Never played Carlisle but Eden is a lovely little course in my opinion.

Carlisle is a mature interesting course with variety and challenge. Eden, unless it has changed markedly, is just up and down and has little design interest or character.

I loved Carlisle when I played there. Interesting wildlife, birds of prey and a lot of red squirrels.:thup:

Just found this old thread and wondered how Carlisle is going? I'm a member at Eden and I do enjoy it there.
