I'm pondering getting a pair of Ecco spikeless shoes and was wondering how they come up for size against other brands as I'd be ordering online.

I'm usually a size 11 in most brands and a 12 in adidas , according to eccos size chart I'd be a 46 which comes in at 11.5 , I've got the option of driving a 90 mile round trip to try them on which I suppose is a serious option when forking out £100+ For a pair of shoes.

At first they seemed very comfy, but after a few rounds I found the excess leather on top creased and cut in just above my toes. I'd advise getting fitted or try a size smaller.
I'm left with almost new shoes that cost £150 that i can't use unless I have 3pair of socks on.
Let us know if you find any difference to your normal fit/ sizes, across their different ranges/models, compared to your normal size / make:thup:.after reading through the responses I'm certain I'm going to drive the 90 miles to ensure I get the correct size - what's 2 hours of my time to ensure hopefully a couple of seasons comfortable shoes.

Yes I tried a few different insoles but no joy. I also made and fitted a internal plastic toe cap that stopped my feet being cut, but felt a bit odd.Have you tried some insoles?.
