As another pair of Fj's have started to leak, I have decided to try another brand, and in that I am looking at Ecco's. Anyone use them or have views on them?
Cheers

As Chris said, I have two pairs of Bioms and they are the best shoes I have ever had but a regular pp of mine got a pair and hated them.

One word of warning only touch toe Gore-tex ones, the Hydromax are not waterproof hence I have two pairs one for summer one for winter.

I have two pairs, one are goretex waterproof and the other are dimple sole for summer. Had them for two years and they have been faultless so far. Very comfortable straight out of the box.

I had a pair for a month or so - they are comfy but didn't like the styling and they are certainly too expensive imo

The Goretex ones are great - I have 2 pairs that are about 6 or 7 years old and still perfectly waterproof - and I mistreat my shoes. Had another pair that were perfect too, until my mistreatment meant a crack in the leather, so no longer waterproof. I paint Castor Oil on them once they have dried out these days.

While I agree they are expensive my previous pair was a £80 pair of Adidas these lasted around 6 months before the heal went, my ecco are now over two years old and still like new (When I clean them)

I've been wearing Eccos for years, both for golf and everyday. Five or six years ago there was a problem with their golf shoes splitting across the sole, but they were replaced under warranty. My oldest pair of Ecco golf shoes must be over six years old and are still waterproof.

I've got a pair of Ecco goretex but only wear them in the summer as I don't want to ruin them.

What do you guys use in the way of polish or dubbing?

Nothing short of awesome! Check the reviews section and also the review me and a couple of forum members have done for this months mag!

ok ours were spikeless but I also own a pair of spiked goretex ones and the quality is still the same !

to be honest the grip on my spikeless are that good I am considering a goretex version of them now as they have been superb for grip on my damp course

Another  here. I find that the same size as FJ works for me, they are long lasting, waterproof in Goretex, Hydromax okay for summer showers but no more. As for polish, Ecco's own leather lotion for white ones or mixed colours, Kiwi Parade Gloss for black ones.

I got a pair of Ecco World Class in white, cost £250 and every bit as good if not better then FJ Classics and look classy. But then again these shoes go with my personality that I've been accused with........

Oh and shoe on the other foot, I got a pair of CoolMax 3 cost £90 and their just as good and comfortable and their no more expensive then FJs IMHHUMBLEO.

I've got some Sports for summer and Biom Hybrids for winter and I don't think I'll ever look anywhere else for golf shoes. For me it's the comfort and they are just ridiculously comfortable, plus I've had no problems with the bioms with regards to waterproofing. I take on board they can be expensive but I'm sure they are releasing a new range soon that to me look just about the same as the existing range. So go for the existing range when they get discounted.

I sent my Footjoy DNA's back about a month ago as they were coming apart at the ball of my foot - after about 4 rounds. I'm finished with Footjoys now - thats three pairs in a row that have gone back under warranty. I know that this is a common problem with DNA's and they are being made differently in the 2015 with new glue bonding the sole. They wouln't admit there was a fault mind you. I know this from a rep.

Replaced them with Ecco Biom in Black/Fire (AKA Red!) and I hope they work better than FJ!

I have a pair of there Biom gortex, I have found them a little narrow and both have split in the same place on top = wet feet for me after 2.5 years - disappointing as £ 200 new, although I got them half price in one of there sales

I only play 2-3 times a month

I do have another pair of ecco black leather gortex, these came out before Biom that I've gone back to - we shall see how we get on

As Matt said really, we got ours in the magazine but wouldn't buy anything else again. I've had many different footjoys and they've all failed with weeks. If you treat them with ecco lotion I've found them to stay waterproof for longer. Mine leaked slightly in really wet weather near the bottom of the tongue. Got the lotion right in there and the last 3 rounds my feet have been bone dry, and we all know what the weathers been like!. I'm still tempted on the gortex version though, still had no grip issue with the spike less in this weather.
