Look for a safe / reliable / free auction sniper tool.

I remember a few of you have mentioned them on here before - but canny remember who.

Any ideas?

I use Auction Stealer - you get 3 'snipes' per week for free but you can pay for extra. If memory serves it places the bid 10 seconds before the auction closes - usually enough to get what you want.

Been successful with it in the past.

I use auction stealer.

Like it has been said you get 3 free a week which says bid at 10 seconds but most of the time its 17 - 20 seconds and thus gives others a chance to bump the price up.

I pay for the monthly subscription of about £5 which can be cancelled at any time which then gives you unlimited snipes at 3 seconds max from the end of auction.

If I have bid enough I have not been beaten as when another bidder responds its too late and the item has finished.

Whats up with actually watching the auction or having reminders sent to you so you can bid on them without trying to get on one over.

I got on to these, and now if I'm bidding on something I submit my bid with only 2 or 3 seconds left so people who try to snipe auctions lose out. My way is fair, sniping is unfair I think.

What do others think

the problem is steve whether you beleive it or want to beleive it ebay is not an honest trading place anymore.

People can have 2/3/4/5 accounts to bid their own stuff up to the price they want, have friends bid stuff up and with so many people using snipers your simply against it if you dont use them. I personally havent used them yet and like you set reminders on my phone etc.... but im hacked off with losing stuff at the last minute when i put a bid in with 1min to go and still lost, its obvious ive lost out to a sniper bid

So what happens if 5 "snipers" all bid the same amount at the same time for the same item? does the whole of Ebay explode?

To be honest, I look at the item, I bid the maximum I think it's worth/I'm prepared to pay and if I win it, I win it.

I'll use a sniper because half the time bids end at times that I can't monitor them. I'll still only bid what I think it's worth so it's win some/lose some.

imurg, are you a premature bidder, IE one who puts hes bid in early and leaves it?

Yes and No.
I know what I want and I know how much it's worth and how much I want to bid. If other people think it's worth more then good luck to them.

Anyone been out-Snipered by someone else using one of these?
