Bought a ‘Parker strimmer’ for £72. Difficult to assemble with thread. However it came from Hong Kong, no mention on website so obviously a fake.

Been in touch with seller who has offered £9 which is unacceptable and have escalated the claim which will come in on 24th May.

Question is:

1. Item is 9kgs and if I need to send back who is the cheapest company. It states returns accepted but buyer pays postage.
2.Am I liable as the item is a fake for postage?
3. what are the chances of a refund?

I have been in contact with seller for over a week now and £9 is his best offer which is totally unacceptable.

Thanks for any advice

Raise the issue with Paypal straight away. I would expect Paypal to refund the lot and your item just to be taken to the local recycling centre. If you have stated to paypal about the overseas supplier that was not mentioned and the fact it is a fake, no brainer.

I bought a memory card for a camera. It wouldn't even fit in the camera. ebay told me to return it. I was not happy. What so it can be sold again. The feedback was good but fake. I was the first of dozens to complain. The site quickly disappeared. Got money back via paypal. Do as LT say. 👍

Cheers.Regarding your suggestion which I appreciate. I paid with Barclaycard and unsure whether it would have gone through my PayPAL account.

Does this make any difference

Raise it with BarclayCard then. As well as Ebay!

There should be no 'dealing' involved regarding returns, especially for fake goods!

If raised with ebay and they accept your claim then they will send you a returns label (which the seller will pay for). So you don't have to worry about finding the cheapest method of posting.
