eBay postage

In the process of buying something from America. The item is only free P&P in America. I have contacted the seller re how to pay for P&P and he has mentioned paying $30 by "global shipping services". My question is how do I pay via GPS, would it be easier for him to bill me. I had bought this item before, but it was stopped at customs in the USA ( lithium battery) and I recieved a full refund. I have re purchased but this time the P & P was only listed as free in America. Cheers me dears.

I have always found postage from the states to be expensive, and usually get a customs bill to pay as well.
I find not many sellers like dealing with out of US postage.

Think the seller would need to offer GSP as a delivery option for this to work - think that may mean he'd need to relist the item including that p+p option so you can then buy it. Might be easier if the seller could just organise another courier independent of Ebay, Fedex / UPS etc and bill you via paypal for it.

But if US Customs stopped it last time won't they stop it again this time?

It was a bit of a suprise to me when it was stopped as I purchased one of these
( torches, Lumitact G700) for My daughter last year. She is in the police and said its the best torch in Sheffield. It was delivered no problems. But when this was stopped, I contacted the seller and he said it may well of been because there was a lithium battery in the case. Typical coz I started a flippin blog re buggy lithium battery's the other month.

The GSP is run by ebay and paypal I believe and means you pay cutoms duty etc at point of sale they then ship via a central point may take a little longer to arrive but arrives without any hidden unexpected bills. The posting of batteries I think is acceptable if brand new in packet but prohibited by RM if used

I think the legislation regarding lithium batteries has recently changed so this may have had an impact whilst people panic

I paid £20 shipping on a £20 t shirt at the weekend. Had no option really as it isn't available in Europe.

Just had a quick look and although my bid has been accepted of $30, the shipping costs of the same amount were not on the buying page. Ave not paid yet and hopefully he can sort it out at his end so I can eventually pay for it.
