Was looking round on Ebay because I need to change the shaft in the SLDR MINI as I have to ring local Air Traffic Control for clearance every time I tee it up. Not that it is ballooning up in the air it is just going on a very high launch angle so getting blown all over the place by cross winds.

Now while looking I found a Callaway Big Bertha War Bird 3W and proceeded to pay £16 with postage for it. So where is the bargain you may ask... I am hoping it is the shaft that is fitted to it. The shaft is a Harrison Pro 2.5 TItanium Stiff flex, in mint condition with a brand new grip grip on it.

SO does anyone know much about these shafts, I have read about them but nothing that is giving me an idea of how it will play compared to my FUJIKURA 57g SLDR shaft that is fitted.

Well I just copied and pasted the name into Google and the first line about it, is that it will help get the ball airborne! Not sure that's the effect you're after?

Adey have a look at the Matrix Black Tie 6M3 if you can lay your hands on one. Was specced for it in my SLDR at a recent fitting (in X Flex) and be very surprised if you put that in and found it still launched too high based on what I was seeing with the normal head

If you go to the Harrison website you can find it on there. They say it is designed to launch the ball easier, but it is a tour shaft with a mid launch angle. Fingers crossed when it was cut down to a 3w they tip trimmed it to have a lower trajectory.

I agree, the 6M3 works great with my SLDR & I hit the ball very high normally. Yo get a lovely low spin, soaring flight with the Black Tie. Got mine on a Cleveland Classic, which I had pulled. Got the whole club for £75 and sold it with a Miyazaki shaft for £50. Bargain!

Harrison shafts have been around for a long time - and for some reason, but I may be completely wrong, I think they have closed down.

Popular for Long Drive guys, but pretty rare in UK.

I can remember hitting one - a Striper in shocking pink - an absolutely huge distance, but the 650cc Integra head was probably the main cause!

Buy One, Buy One, Buy One ... You didn't say that you bought the wrong one!

Are you just changing the shaft and grip and keeping the clubhead?

Maybe the 12 degree would have been a better choice?

NO not really. When you hit a club that far for that long at a ridiculous height it is going to get blown all over the place. So having the 12* will still launch far too high and be susceptible to it. More than happy with the head and going down the loft is just going to go against what I am trying to do, use more loft for more consistency.

Yeah, just a shaft change. More than happy with the club, just launches a little bit too high for my liking and it gets blown all over the place by the wind.

10 days ago it was perfect ... On a serious note it would be good to hear how much better it is after say, the next 10 days.

There's never a drama with these game improvement type clubs so changing the shaft to something that suits is a no brainer.

Who says I do not still love it now. I just want to try and lower the launch angle down to stop it getting blown all over the place. Like you said it is just a case of fitting a shaft that suits me more.

That one down the first (albeit a reload :) )at Hillside seemed to go well bud !!

Dont worry too much about the height. It isn't that windy over in Cali !!
