Eating Gloves

maybe you're gripping too hard? However, gloves aren't indistructable, they will give up the ghost at some point. Think i get through a couple per season playing twice a week.

I've just worn through my first Titleist Player glove.

I brought 3 in April.

Once the glve gets a bit grubby, it's retired to the practice bag where it's used for the range/bounce games/practice and a fresh one used for qualifiers.

I play 4 times a week and it's only just given up the ghost.

I think I'd get through about 4-5/season.

I get a fair bit of wear on mine as well but I think it is because I grip my club to tight. No matter how much I try to keep a loose grip always seem to hold it too tight.

Guys I am wondering why I go through so many gloves. Left hander. Always wear through on my thumb...any ideas?

Ask a pro to check your grip and make sure that you are using the right thickness of the grip. I recently went up to a midsize after several years of using a standard grip with 2 wraps a tape.

I used to wear a small patch on the fleshy part of my left hand. (Right handed golfer).

Even if your pro changes your grip completely go for it, a good grip is vital.

Tend to wear them in the pads. Know its a grip fault and something I need to change in due course

tut tut change it now and grip with your fingers!!

I kill gloves but find that real leather ones last me longer.

don't think it's being left handed, although I am and used to wear my gloves there too..... :)

at it's most basic, the wear is occuring because your club is moving in relation to the thumb through the swing (or vice versa!)

in my case it was happening because of a strong right hand grip with the thumb actively getting involved in the swing - resolving this has meant that I no longer have to throw away gloves with holes in the thumbs (and as a byproduct I hit the bal a lot more consistently!)

I was wearing holes into the right side of the left palm...turns out I was holding the club a little to near the top...held it lower for a while an still on same glove :)
