Our resident male blackbird was in our rose garden this morning.
He was feeding his second brood fledgling on fallen rose petals.
How odd we thought.
The youngster was not having it and kept spitting them out.
He must have spat them out 10 times before we noticed that it was not rose petals but a blooming great moth.
He eventually gave in and with a big gulp swallowed it whole.
