I'm flying from Bristol to Glasgow on Weds with Easyjet. I've booked my clubs but I'd like to pack my clothes etc in the golf bag and golf flight bag. Having spoken to them they said only golf equipment can be put in the flight bag. I would have assumed as long as the weight doesn't go over 32kgs they wouldn't worry.

Has anybody flown recently with EJ with golf clubs and can confirm their stance with regards non golf equipment in the golf flight bag?

I've flown with them several times and we always pack extras in the golf flight bag. Usually golf related such as shoes and balls etc. I'd be surprised if there was an issue with other items so long as you're in the weight limit.

Flew to Malaga with them last October, golf travel bag was full of clothes and whatever else wouldn't fit in my carry on luggage they never batted an eye there or back!

they have recently changed their 'rules' but they used to be very explicit in that nothing but clubs could be in the 'bag', and there was a weight limit of about 15kg on the bag.

I believe from third party sources that they ran into problems with that limit and some bag/club combinations and they basically changed the whole thing, including how they priced clubs / checked luggage combinations.

Their web-site has a huge amount of information on it, and I would suggest you base any decisions on what that says, and what Easyjet say, rather than past experiences of individuals - inc me

basically you buy an additional 12kg over and above the standard 20kg hold limit and can load 2 items - the distribution of weight between them no longer matters as it did with their previous system.

here there is still the reference to 'only sports equipement' and even specifically excludes golf shoes!
