Hi all,

I was a very small part of a team involved in redesigning the club's website. As part of this, I produced the following promo video:

Let me know what you think.

New website also open for comments / scrutiny(!):

Course looks stunning

Website looks very good , professional looking and seems to highlight the club very well

Was the video professionally done ?

Stunning pics but it doesn't seem to flow and the commentary is very rigid and unnatural - obviously working from a script but you don't get the enthusiastically feeling from the narrator

Unfortunately not professional- I did it and I didn't charge a cent- not my profession.

I think the video came out 'fine'. I would imagine to get it to the next level would need a decent wedge of cash chucked at it.

The commentary was scripted (by a reasonably famous broadcaster- a member) but agree it's not as slick as it could be, particularly if it was managed by a company charging £1000s.

On the balance though, I reckon the video is a decent addition to a lovely new website- and that's all it's meant to be. It's not going on TV or anything. I think it does a good job of showing off the course and club.

I also produced the walkthrough videos of each hole. Here's one example:

Thats a good video

Do you know anyone who can do the flyover videos ?

A lot of them do it for free to allow them to highlights themselves all over social media

Might be worth speaking to photographer - they maybe able to help with a flyover video and wouldnt cost the earth

We used a local guy for flyover footage on a limited basis- he did a good job. I embedded some of his footage into the promo video. We could have had all 18 holes done, but given how terrible the summer was, and we were under pressure to get the website done despite this, we decided that the walkthrough videos would suffice for now. Something for the future, perhaps.

I was talking to The Captain about this last night and he was fulsome in his praise for the new website and everyone's efforts in putting it together.

I have to say it looks very good and I think the commentary is fine. The new website looks great too.
Congratulations on your excellent work.

To Phil. Yes it's a stunning course. I've been a member here for 10 years and love the place.

Like the landing page. Well presented and focuses on selling the clubs best asset.

Too many clubs miss this and fill theirs with all kinds of guff.

Good stuff

Promo video and new web site looks really good.
Course looks good, sad to say I stay less than 25 minutes away and have never played it - need to get out more

Really nice video of my first golf club. Was a member of East Ren in the mid-late 1970s and it most certainly wasn't tree-lined back then!! - in fact I remember the club starting the planting programme.

I had a knock round by myself last year (2014) for the first time since I left about 35yrs ago - I hardly recognised some of the holes :) But some crackers - a really great track IMO. I'm going to be in Mearns a fair bit (God willing) at least first half of next year and so if either of you guys who are members are ever one short...:)
