My mate is organising next year's trip and has found a deal to play The Roxburghe, Dunbar and Goswick.

I've heard Goswick and Dunbar are decent tracks but not too sure of The Roxburghe. Can anybody give us any info on the roxburghe and is there any others that's worth playing at a decent price?

North berwick is a cracking course to play. Theres so much character on that course. The 17th Green is an aqcuired taste but its something you will remember forever :D

I think you mean 16th.

Plenty of other parts of NB about that are an 'acquired taste' but it's certainly one that I've definitely acquired!

Roxburghe is a so-so course - good but nothing really special - except for the view from the 14th tee! Play that hole from the back tee! Some nice holes elsewhere but I can't remember them, while I can remember almost every shot of NB! So worth playing if it's on/not too far out of your way. Elegant Hotel though.

A day on Gullane (2 & 3) rates very high up my 'best day's golf' list. Or even simply Gullane 2. Gullane 1 is only a little better than 2 imo but huge difference in price!

The problem with everyone suggesting playing somewhere else is that there is a deal that includes the 3 courses for like £120 which is saving money on the courses.

I would agree tho, if you can get it in play north berwick, definitely the best course i have played so far.

Thanks for the replies gents,The Roxburghe is included in the deal but justwant to know what the course is like as we're trying to keep costs down. Alternatively if any of you would like to sign in 16 scousers onto your home course we'll gladly accept :)

I noticed there's a East Lothian golf pass you can buy, is it worth it or should we try to haggle with thr courses to do us a deal?

The Roxburghe is a decent course. I played it a good few years ago and it's definitely somewhere I'd play again. I don't think you'd feel cheated playing it as part of a three course deal.
