Have suffered an awful lot of rain down here recently.
So much so that a few courses have closed for a few days, and Cooden itself has 3 holes unplayable at the moment.
So looking for somewhere to play on Wednesday, we visited East Brighton again.
First time I have been down there for a couple of years.
Have to say, the course was in amazing condition. Superbly manicured fairways, greens that were spot on. The place drains so well.
Came off after 18 holes and there wasn't a spot of mud on our shoes or trousers, and my GoKart was cleaner than it was when we started!!
Only downside of playing there is that even on a flat calm day there will always be a breeze, and it was the same on Wednesday, but it makes it interesting.
If you are in the South East and looking for a game, you could do a lot worse than play here.
We didn't have any 2fore1 vouchers, so the green fee was £27.50 each, but well worth it.
Highly recommended.

Brighton and Hove and The Dyke are similar, elsewhere can be closed and they are playing fantastically well. I think it's due to the chalk in the ground.

I was lucky enough to have the same thing at South Winchester, but less (slightly) windy.

It did have a few soggy spots which I think EB will have less of. Inland links style courses build on chalk downs are my favourite.

A great club East Brighton, I had a short membership there.

No interview, paid my money and was straight in. Bonus points already. Course is in fantastic shape all year round, can handle all the rain that's thrown at it. Friendly members, no problem turning up to a comp and getting a game.

Had to move away from the area but enjoyed my time there. Although what you say about the breeze is correct, 3/4 club winds were not uncommon!

stop it or I'll report you to Patrick !!!!:D

Last time I played EB I managed one hole before the fog descended. No idea who my playing partners were as I never saw them.

Definitely up for another game there, as I love 'inland links'.

We are looking at playing at West Hove next Wednesday if you fancy it Richard. Similar course that drains just as well. Haven't played there for years but Greg and Ray say it's really good. £18.00 including coffee teeing off around 11.

Would love to Rob, but I have got a Society day at West Hill the day before I am arranging, and I know I will be too knackered the next morning to play again. Following Wednesday I am around for a game if you are about.
