Was playing my new course for only the third time today and the 18th is a 502 yard par 5. A match against another club had just finished so everyone was sitting in the clubhouse (which is glass-fronted) watching people come in. I nailed a drive about 270 yards down the left hand side, leaving me 234 yards to centre of green. I saw that everyone was watching so I pulled out my 3 rescue and creamed it with a lovely draw to 10 feet from the pin. Walking up to the green my playing partners both said "don't miss it otherwise you'll look like a plonker". They both putted out and I could see the clubhouse out of the corner of my eye as I was standing over my putt. I struck the putt and it rolled with a little break straight in the back of the cup! Everyone in the clubhouse gave me a round of applause and I felt a bit like a pro for a minute! This is only me second ever eagle so still very exciting to get one

Hope you all played well today, I'm certainly happy :)

Little things like that are great and keep you coming back to the game.

I had a mare today but after a good drive on 18 I left my second pin high but right side off the green. Bunker between me and the pin. Decided to go for it as I needed par to half the hole as opponent was on in 3 and had a shot. 60*, open face ball sitting nicely in the rough. Caught it perfectly bounced twice and dived into the hole. The ones looking out from the club house were clapping. Thankfully they hadn't seen my card ;)

It's a great feeling to nail it with an audience.

I got one today to win our 4 bbb match on the first extra hole

Always good to do that in front of an audience.

I see from your signature that you've got your course down as Beccles. Assume that's your old course, where are you playing now? I live in Worlingham so if you're still local and fancy a hit at your place or round Dunston Hall where I'm a member give me a shout.

Well done, that's awesome!! :D

I've never had an eagle but I did play my best ever round today and scored 40 stable ford points so I'm expecting a cut! Woop.

Well done!

Yesterday on the 6th (Par 5) I hit a drive oob right. Then 2nd tee creamed the fairway. Hybrid 5 to green and putt.

Then on our 9th (par 4) I hit a wild drive right again oob. 2nd tee shot I drove the green 5 feet away from the pin. Sunk the putt. If only I hadnt had the wild drive first!

Always a woulda, shoulda, coulda for me I'm afraid!

Making two pars in a round after being three off the tee each time is great going, especially off a 28hcp!

Had a cracking 2 on a par four today - great wedge from 120 one bounce and into the hole

Also had a ten

the nearest i've even been to an Eagle is seeing the pair of Buzzards and pair of Kites that live at my course circling ominously overhead every saturday morning.
Holed a 25ft putt for birdie on our 18th yesterday in front of an audience. Unfortunately they were waiting to tee off in a match and not looking but probably turned around when somewhat out of character, i let out a loud shout of YES when the putt dissappeared and immediately felt a right idiot! Especially after only scoring 25 points.

I hadn't had an eagle in nine months and then I've had five in three weeks. Stupid damn game.

I use to have plenty of eagle opportunities at my old club Wimbledon Common where holes like 3, 5, 9 and 16 were all in range. I can't drive any of our par 4's at Royal Ascot and there is perhaps one par five that's worth the risk of going for it in two (for me at least)
