Recorded my first ever eagle yesterday!! Really short par 4 at 245 yds, driver off the tee, nice bounce onto the green, leaving about 10 feet for the putt. Added pressure from an audience (the pro was giving a group lesson on adjacent practice green), they all were watching, so started to try block them out. Anyway, managed to sink the putt to start my round off with with a deuce!!! So happy!!
Who else then...............

1 for me this year too and my first. Downhill 275 yard par 4... I was 1 foot away from the pin... The most nervous putt ever! Knowing full well I would never have such a chance again in my life added the pressure! Think I spent nearly a minute lining it up ;)

Coincidence, I scored my first today.

Par four, dog leg over a quarry, drove my first right and behind some trees, then played the luckiest shot off my life! Flopped it over the trees, bounced short of the green then rolled down and in... shame I was playing on my own, and only the first six.

Think I'm on three this year so far. One in a bounce game, one in a comp and one in the longest day challenge. We have two short par 4 that I can drive with a 4 iron or 5 wood depending on the wind, the one in the longest day challenge looked so close to an ace it was unreal but it just stayed out. The others were all from long putts of 15 feet or so.

This is becoming a Monkey on my back. Birdie count = great. Eagle count = a big fat zero, and has been for a couple of seasons.

Never a Monkey on the Back, but not had one this year - though a couple of putts for.... Had 1 last year.

Well done.

I have only ever had one at my course in 2 1/2 years and very few anywhere else. None of our par 4s are driveable and only one of our par 5s is in reach when the wind is right. My eagle came a few weeks ago when I holed out from 120yds. To be honest, eagles aren't something I really think about as the liklihood of getting one is slim.

Never had one :-( Only had two real opportunities that I can think of as well.....Playing at Belton Woods (I think), on a Par 5 green in two, missed the 20 foot putt by about a foot, and one at my home course, 287 yard par 4, wind was blowing in the right direction and I caught a driver better than I've ever caught it and dropped it on the fringe about 10 feet away, made birdie at least.....as has been said, I try not to think about going to Eagles (in the sense that I rarely try to hit Par 5 greens in two, more get within 100 yards in two)...getting a birdie is an achievement in itself :-)

Had one last year, par 4 miss hit driver off the tee & then a 6 iron from 160 yards straight in the hole.
Then last month.
A par 5, driver off the tee, a sweetly struck 3 hybrid & finally a 70 yard chip in with a 55 degree wedge.

My birdie count is pitiful this year to. But my eagle count stands at a big fat Zero!

Double bogey count on the other and I would be hard pressed to find someone with more than me
