My son has an issue with FIFA 14 on the XBOX One. His EA account seems to be screwed up because he can play exhibition matches online but cannot access the "ultimate team" part of the game online.
Errors with "unable to connect to FIFA ultimate team......" or words to that affect.

Been trying to contact EA/Origin but its impossible to use their website to make contact, the "contact us" links don't work. I've tried 3 different browsers but I am going around in circles. Nightmare customer service.

Was this last night? I was playing UT but got kicked off halfway through a match (which I was winning and would have won me the league:rolleyes:). That was on PS4 so I guess EA are having server problems again.

He's never been able to connect to this. We've been trying since Xmas day, his mates are on OK so its something to do with our setup or more likely his account with EA.

I just cant get through to them.

Ah right. They are a bit pants to be fair. We had a problem with the boys copy of Battlefield 4, they had an online chat thingy which was ok, got the problem sorted eventually

Thats the link. You'll have to go through the question bit before you get through but then you should get a link for a live chat session.

Cheers guys. The chat window never appears when I try. I can't see a EA uk telephone number in the links.

I may try their email though.

Yes, I got to chat to some blokey somewhere on the other side of the world no doubt but in fairness he did get the problem sorted.
Probably a daft question but have you registered/logged in to Origin?

Don't get me started with EA, I've got to deal with them at work and they are clueless, the best way to describe EA is that they are like a blind man trying to describe an object to a deaf person.

It must be my computer because no matter what I try I cannot get a chat window open on their site. I disabled pop up blockers.

I log in using my sons login, then go through the help menus, click on speak to a advisor/chat and then it says log in first (I am already logged in). I click on login again and then the error "this app wants to close this window". It bombs me out.

I did read on their site that they are doing maintenance today for FiFa 14 Ultimate servers with 2 hours down time. Perhaps it might magically start working after that. So will try again next week.

I sent an email to the privacy email address in the link above but EA said its the wrong mail address I need to go the help pages, which is where I am having the issue - and it starts all over again.

Sounds about right. Are you on twitter? Might be worth having a go at them through that, a lot of companies don't like a good social media slagging as it can escalate quite quickly when other users start jumping on the bandwagon.

OK have some kind of closure on this now. My son has also been trying and he did actually get on chat a few days ago (he didn't say until now) and he got a email today from EA.

Apparently he was told that he is too young to access the EA servers. I think the min age is 13 but he is almost 14. The account is screwed up and neither Microsoft or EA can do anything about this. He was advised to create a new Xbox Live gamertag and that's the only way to get around it - apparently.

I will tell him to wait until next month when he turns 14 to see if that makes any difference.

Hi! I'm same age as your son.

EA are an utter joke. I played lots (and lots) of FIFA 13. The customer service is appalling.

This happened to my friend, his account was 12, when he turned 13, he still couldn't get on. He also had this problem on various other EA games. Best way around it is just as you said, set up another gamertag.

Hopefully it does work when he turns 14 though!
