Currently play Kbs tour stiff shafts in my mp 63 irons have saw a new set of irons which I'm considering buying and they are fitted with the superlite stiff shafts.
Can anyone tell me if I would notice much difference in these 2 shafts and if they are targeted at a certain swing speed etc

Thanks

I've got DG SLs S300 in my Wishon irons. They are a good shaft a bit thicker then normal shafts but perform really good.

I found the ball flight in the KBS to be higher than the DG shaft

My set of Nikes have DG S300 XP which is meant to promote higher ball flight but I also have a demo 6 iron with a standard DG S300 in it and there is no difference at all.

What is the general ball flight with these shafts?

It all depends on your AOA on the ball really, I normally have a lower ball flight, but the lightweight helps to make the flight higher where as the normal DG 300s, I'd hit them lower then the SLs.

Getting a very high ball flight with the kbs stiff but it's not very penetrating which I would want to avoid if changing irons/shafts.
Previous irons I played had dgs300 and these had a lower more penetrating flight for me however if the superlites are designed to promote a higher ball flight then it's best if I avoid these.
Thanks for input everyone.

The exact reason why I went for DGS300

Whoa!

SLs are actually designed to have a lower flight - for the weight. Whether that's actually lower than standard DG will depend on your swing. The XPs are the ones designed for higher flight.

A Pro mate uses R300SL and the flight he gets is magic! He does have the weird trait of compensating for shaft attributes though! He hooks Stiff shafts!

So don't reject the SLs, as they might well work for you. If the flight is ok, make sure the dispersion isn't excessive. That was the problem I found with light shafts (Nippons). I had no idea where I was going to miss from one shot to the next. Heavy shafts work best for me!

I have the sl s300 and I have a very penetrating flight- I dont like high ball flights
