Every time I see him I think cheat.
The English keep on going on about drug cheats in athletics, when we have our own?.
I heard a commentator say recently Tyson Gay had his 2 year sentence reduced to one
because he grassed people up.
Until they say its a life ban and life means life imo it will continue.

Agree - drug cheats should be banned from competitive sport for life

Justin Gatlin has been banned twice now and still can compete

Get caught, get banned from life. No second chances. Sends out the very simple message, do it at your own risk but get caught and can't earn huge fees on the Diamond tour, you got no one left to blame

I hate drugs cheats and don't like Chambers at all BUT can't help but have a grudging admiration for his determination and hard work since he came back from his ban.

I believe everyone, well almost everyone, deserves a second chance. For serious crimes, murder and rape etc, no second chance. But for a drug taking athlete I feel it should be a 2 yr ban, and no 3rd chance. And tested after every event.

i personally know a track athlete who managed an Olympic bronze. before the London Olympics he said ''there isn't a single track athlete that's isn't on some form of illegal performance enhancing drug''
he left the sport at the age of 24 because he couldn't compete without putting his reputation at risk.

That's a worrying statement and not unlike the Lance Armstrong comments when he was up to all sorts. If the ban was for life I believe that the sport would be a lot cleaner as the risk wouldn't out weigh the rewards.

It has been proven over and over that the harshness of the penalty is a minor factor in the reduction of offending, it is the liklihood of getting caught that impacts on offending rates.
Example? Murder rates in states of the USA with capital punishment are no better than those without.

It's all about probability of getting caught.
