Anyone see the Dustin Johnson post round interview with Claude Harmon last night? Bit of an odd vibe going on between them but hilarious.

Harmon was basically showing Dustin his swing on video and making a few observations and asked Dustin what his thoughts are during his swing.

'Just Hit the middle of the club" came the reply.

Ok says Claude, "then you get to the top and then unwind and hit it as hard as you can ?"

'No, I can hit it harder if I want'

It was just the deadpan way he was responding. Was so funny.

Dustin is well known to be as thick as two short planks. Butch often alluded to this during commentary.

Yep - Claude Harmon has just said on the Sky commentary that they don't show DJ any figures on Trackman as he doesn't understand them!!!

And I heard exactly the same from a Taylormade staffer who did some fitting for him.

Sandy Lyle was famously not too bright either. Didn't hurt him until he started to try to think about his game.

Hes done alright for himself despite not being the sharpest tool in the box.

Most of us would rather be him though wouldn't we?

I could probably live his life - would have to make some sacrifices though......!!

Some may say he's thick, i personally think he could be onto something and may be a genius.

Why get bogged down with launch angles, spin rates, shaft flex's angle of attacks and so on? He has simplified he's golf perfectly, hit it or hit it harder.

He has 100's of people working with him to ensure he doesn't need to think.... Just hit it!

Hasn't been quite the genius coming down the stretch in a lengthening list of majors.

Would knowing spin rates etc change that........

It isn't whether he knows or cares about spin and launch. Not all Tour players do. It was more a measure of his smarts that he didn't understand them. Perhaps the same lack of intelligence makes him ill equipped to deal with the last few holes of majors. With his long game and usually reasonable putting, he should have closed the deal by now.

You would think his quieter mind would help in pressure situations.
