Anyone used any of Dunlop's waterproof stuff ? I'm not looking to spend more than around £60-£80 on jacket and trousers. Any suggestions ?

I've not tried them recently as past experience of dunlop gear wasn't very good. It wasn't the most waterproof suit and became unbearably hot to wear as it didn't breath. My advice for £30 more would be to get a full proquip suit(jacket & trousers) from clubhousegolfdirect for £110

Yeah, there is probably some poor Postman lying in a ditch somewhere, without his waterproof trousers!! :) ;)

My brother in law used to have Dunlop waterproofs and whenever he put them on we used to piss ourselves laughing.
They looked "rubberised" and he always reminded us of Jacques Cousteau getting ready to jump overboard.
I think that's where he got the nickname "Flipper"
:D

Dunlop make some passable clothing, but never been convinced about their waterproofs. The Missus uses Dunlop & Donnay waterproofs, but I wouldn't be seen dead in either of them.

That said there are only a few golfing months when waterproofs are needed on the course as full time wear.

You get what you pay for & it depends either what performance you want from the waterproofs, or how vain you are.

you don't necessarily have to get a golfing brand of waterproof. Get yourself along to a good outdoors store and take a look at the trousers there. Also, try discount stores like Tog24, or even TKMaxx.

i got my sunice golf jacket for £30 from TKmaxx and Berghaus trousers from Tiso for £30 and both do the job of keeping me dry very well.

Good point, I play in my old rugby wet weather training gear. Very waterproof, incerdibly hard wearing and breathes well. Cost me far less than a branded golf make.
