A tidy bogey-free round of 63 for the young McIlroy this morning by the looks of it. He currently leads by 3, it looks like he definately has his mojo back. McIlroy for the Masters?

Would be great to see Rory exorcise that Masters demon, there's a while to go yet though. He handled it so well at the time considering... Would more like to see Europe have the world's dominant golfer again - not sure if he's a little more mercurial than that though?

Shame on you Hawkeye - though excellent to see the 'Spoiler' in the title!

You should know by now that Golf in general doesn't work that way and, hugely talented as he is, he's more than capable of blowing up in one of the 4 rounds!

He's certainly in form at the moment though - numbers say he would have won a couple of Abu Dhabi and solid, if unspectacular in Dubai.

Wouldn't put my last shirt on him just yet though, but would be great to see him scoring at that level consistently!

I reckon he may just do the masters this time, He has the game for it as it showed in the past, The blow up was just one of those learning curves that he has got over. He finally has his personal life back on track and hopefully he will just ignore the press as they are just complete and utter........:blah:

The spring is back in his step. Watched a bit this morning and its great to see him enjoying his golf again. His last few outings certainly show that the form is back for now. I hope it will continue for a while and that he will go on to win the masters or any major this year would be great.

I hope he does. Watching him swing a golf club when he is "on song" is a joy to watch. I'd love him to win The Open more than the Masters though.

Winning all 4 in a year would be quite something...achievable without a doubt, but my god you have to be on song 100% of the time!

It's the spring in his step that makes me think he'll have a very good year. Clearly something wasn't right last year, I have no idea what and really no interest but it seems whatever it was has now been resolved. He's playing with a smile on his face and that combined with his undoubted talent could mean trouble for the rest of the tour.

It certainly could be. It would be nice to see all the big names taking him on in the majors and seeing how he holds up. I think if it ever comes down to him and Tiger or Phil down the stretch, the master or the open on the line, he'll take them. When he's playing like this its easy for him to bounce back for tough breaks.

The big thing for him now compared to last year is that he has cut out the mistakes. The big numbers are gone which means he can play free flowing golf.

A happy and confident McIlroy is hard to play against. He only needs his putter to get warm and he can go low anywhere. He gives himself so many good birdies chances with his length off the tee and quality irons. I reckon he's got a big chance in the majors

Don't suppose anyone knows why Zane Scotland got DQ'd. Had been keeping an eye on how he was getting on and saw that he had an 8 on the last and had been DQ'd, but can't see anywhere why that was.

Saw that and wondered myself.

He was out quite early and completed the round, so I guess it's something that would cause a Penalty, that was noticed after he'd signed his card - so he signed for a wrong score with consequent DQ! Quite possibly happened on that last hole - thus the big number! If it was something like that and had happened on an earlier hole, he might have been able to be informed an then would only cost the Penalty!

Now would all those that normally comment on how much better ET coverage is to PGA as they cover a wider range of players like to comment?

Watching today, pretty sure I saw every shot from Woods, McIlroy and towards the end Monty. So perhaps the common denominator here is the world #1 as the coverage from the US was decent last night, showed a lot of players.

It was always going to be the case, they started coverage on day one at 3.30 cos thats when Tiger was out, where as today it was only at like 7.

Fact of the matter is a lot of people tune in to see Tiger play, Non golfers are more like to watch Tiger and Rory battling out together than two others they have never herd of before. As much as people dont like it, he is a big draw in the game and it is likely to be like this untill he retires.

Haven't bother watching most of this because the first two days were always going to be a tiger Fest ( needs to earn his million pound appearance fee ) .

Thankfully the ET won't concentrate on him tommorrow if he isn't doing well
