Drop down advert

Am I alone in getting jarred off with closing the Ping drop down advert? While perusing today's posts I have had to close it 3 times. Helps to confirm me as a TM fan though.

Lol. True though. Ads help the forum stay free and support GM but I have also fallen victim to to many intrusive ads and had no option but to install an ad blocker. The ads with audio were my final straw.

I know adverts should do something to draw attention but the minute they start impacting on user experience of a website then something is wrong with the ad.

Its also worth noting alot of ISPs and websites collect your browsing history and feed you adds based on it...

There is, indeed, a balance between the 'benefits' of having advertising sponsor sites and the nuisance they cause if they are obtrusive.

I'm afraid that boundary was crossed some time ago by a number of sites, including this one, so I use Adblocker!
