Hi,
due to me not having a full swing and only driving 210-240ish, I used my 12deg driver on 14 holes today , I hit the fairway 11 times so very pleased with the % (thanks bob), however when do you choose to change to a lower deg driver which I guess is supposed to give you more distance ? Only asking as I have a 10.5 one in the garage.
I don't think it would make much diff to a player of my limited ability, just after your views.

Cheers

Midnight...

Mono lad, you need to beef that post out a little before it finds its very own place in room 101.

Midnight, try the same again next time, I think its amazing how i can go out one day in a certain mindset and do all sorts of wonderful shots, I can shape them, I can make them land like a butterfly with sore toes and can make them back up like a reversing ferrari. The next day, I manage to casually shank the ball twice and miss every fairway and green.
Some folks have proved iirc, that loft doesnt always go shorter the more you increase the numbers, head to the drving range and have a go with a few different ones. Shaft and kick points can have their effect too.
Hope it keeps up for you though :)

Too right.
Stick with what gets you on the fairway. Your scores will come down if you play your 2nd shot from the short stuff.

I'd rather hit 210/240 regular and straight than be able to reach 260/270 or longer but all over the place? :D

Same here, (though I *can* hit 210/240 if I try, but I'll still be all over the place!!)

Will have to have a game some time Midnight. Wouldn't mind trying Wickham actually, so if you're playing and don't mind an extra tagging along, then let me know! ;)

Tim.

How many par 3s at yours?

Can't see how you'd gain anything by going to the 10.5.

11/14 is pretty damn good.....

Midnight, i think this is all about horses for courses eg: i tried loads of drivers a few months ago and i hit a YONEX Nanospeed 10.5* better than a Ping G10 10.5* but i hit a 12* G10 better than both, so as long as your swing is right i don't think your drivng will be to far away.

I would try your 10.5* driver for a round or 2 but don't get too frustated if it's not going to plan

Its a myth that lower degree driver's got further its about angle of attack into the ball

I dont hit the ball on the up as i prefer to hit the ball forward so use a 10.5 now but a year ago had a 8.5 as i used to hit up on it

If the 12 works great and 210/240 will do anyday of the week
