i have just been looking at a new driver and the ping g15 grabbed my attention. in the diescription is say that it is perfect for mid to high handicappers? also claims to improve consistency? my swing isnt too bad at the moment but i can slice the ball badly at times due to an unconsistent swing. i am working on this with my pro but surely a new driver cant ensure that the club face is square at impact more than any other club?

Thoughts?

[panto] oh yes it can [/panto]

more realistically whilst it can be weighted such that it should return a little squarer it can't ensure it because you have a right in golf to swing any club the way you want to

Depends what you are coming from, but if your current Driver is an 80's Persimmon, the claims could ell be true!

I found the G15 pretty easy to hit well though. Best way is to hit as many Drivers as you can and find the one you feel is best for you. A G15 would certainly be on my list of recommendations though.

Also worth marking a few balls and finding whether your misses are mainly above/below the sweet spot (in which case deep faced Drivers like the G15 would tend to suit) or Left/Right (in which case wide-faced ones like TM Burners would suit)

Good Luck

It all depends. If you have a hideous out to in chop, then you will slice pretty much anything. But if you have a marginal tendency made worse by a club with too little loft and or too stiff a shaft then the G15 might play much better. Always best to hit it with the pro watching to see what he thinks.
