Hi first post, been stopped playing really for the past 8 years though did play for a year in the middle,so looking to get back into the golf, currently have a set of Nike slingshot irons which i like, but the driver 3wood and 5 wood are callaway big bertha 460s, really didnt like them last time i played found they seemed to make the ball go way high and reduced the yardage, been thinking on a Ping K15 but are there any others i should try out?

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome.

The Ping K15 driver for me is a driver built to help with a slice or serious fade as its very draw biased, really offset when looking down at it, obviously if this is something that would suit you then fine, but if not, its way off the grid for me.

If your looking for a lower flight then get a driver that can be adjusted so you can tweak it here and there but really you need to try a few so I'd drop into a store that has demo's to try and take it from there.

Try your nearest pro shop. If it is anything like ours it will have a second hand bin with tons of old drivers in it. Although used, some of them are not much older than 18 months as their previous owner has moved onto the next "add 20 yards to your drives" latest shiny. You can find some real bargains if you happen along at the right time.
