First off this may seem strange with no uploaded video of my swing, but I'm wondering if I have worked out my problem.
A mate said I don't "attack" my ball with the driver particularly compared to my 3 wood from both off the tee and the deck which I hit so well. I don't have any issues with hitting my rescue or irons.
I have hit some cracking drives but not with any real consistency, the flight is straight but weak. Just when I think I've cracked it (last issue was no spinal tilt) the success is short lived and I just seem to fall backwards. Now I think I might have realised what I'm doing, just by swinging with no club in the house.
The issue I think is that for some strange reason I don't seem to turn as much with the driver in hand compared to the other clubs. I think this is because the ball is further forward in the stance, opposite the left heel, I have to turn more( or at least it feels that way). By turning more, or feeling like I do this in turn seems to help the right hip turn more. Does this sound right in that you actually do turn more with the driver compared to 3 wood ?
Also strangely I seem to have a psychological issue with the driver, because the head is so massive I seem to think that I somehow don't have to hit it!!!
I wonder if anyone else can relate to this alien and strange issue....:mmm:

Short (and boring) answer would be get a quick lesson. Let a pro see you hit some drives and he'll be able to see what you do and don't do and correct it from there. Much easier than self diagnosing. It's just my opinion of course and many will say work it yourself.
