The saying "drive for show putt for dough" couldn't have summed up my game any better today.

My driving had always been abit inconsistent to say the least! But today out of the 11 holes I used my driver on I only missed 2 fairways and the rest were nailed down the middle.

So I should have scored well......... Wrong!!!!!

A nett 82, I had 3 3putts and a 4 putt!

My partner said he counted 6 putts at least that on another day would have dropped for me but today they lipped out.

Only 0.1 to go and I'll be getting a extra shot to waste :)

I was the other way yesterday. No idea over any shot where it was going or how to swing in truth but 28 putts (7 single and 1 three putt) and a chip in helped no end. Some days you can have a great ball striking round but if the putts lip out then the score will rarely match the quality of your play

My putting has been good recentley but since they top dressed our greens earlier in the week I can't seem to judge the pace of anything or hole anything.

But I'll take the plus points in that both my playing partners today who have been playing for a good few years said that my driving was some of the best they had seen for a long time.

So my glass is half full rather than half empty.

2 key parts to golf are driving and putting.

My driving was exceptional today avg 280 down the fairway, putting was woeful even 6 footers missed by a foot!!!!

Love this game

Know what you mean..., drove the ball like a dream today, 11 greens in reg and not a single birdie   78 Gross

12 putts from less than 8 inches , argh

I had a 4 putt to card an 8 on 1 hole in the medal yesterday. Still returned my best ever score in a medal, and was net 1 under par. Came in 18th out of 130ish, so was very happy, but didn't get cut :-(.
