Medal today, light rain at 1st tee @ 9.45, after 4 holes it was steady, by 7 it was teeming it down, at the 9th one of my fourball lost grip on his approach.

To top it all my fags were soaked, my waterproofs started to leak slightly and we all decided at the 9th to call it a day, 2 groups before us had done the same aswell.

Anyone else done this or do you man up and play it out?

Personally, as its a hobby if it is no fun whatsoever then I dont see the point carrying on.

On a plus note the Ping G10 was arrow straight/slight fade off the tee and getting decent length so there was a slight ray of sunshine. (Its snowing here now... bloody weather grrrr)

Played this morning on my own and walked in after 9 as it was starting to get heavier. May have stayed out if I was playing with others but I just thought there's not much point in getting soaked on my own.

welcome to what we Scots had to put up with pretty much every weekend last 'summer'

sod that Darth you lot mut be made of sterner stuff :)

just shows my proquip pqlite do not like continuous heavy rain. New AQL's were spot on and my hat was watertight. No fun drying grips, changing gloves etc. Tried my best to keep everything dry but was to no avail

We had our monthly medal today and our group walked in on the 16th today and there were streams of people doing the same. It was just unplayable, wet right through, greens were starting to puddle up, etc.

was at the range watching whilst my daughter was at a coaching session and it was perishing this morning. Snow on the hills and a fresh breeze.

Spring has gone back into hibernation

We stuck it out, teemed down all the way, thank you footjoy, stayed as dry as possible, clubs got soaked tho no way to keep grips dry, just bought a ping bag, not the best day to try it out.

Man up and play on like me with the gazebo on wheels.

Admitedly Its a bit Femmy but it works.

Didn't even get out of the clubhouse! Had arranged a friendly knock with Leftie, Richart and Richarts mate Jeremy, tee was booked for 11.12. Light drizzle in Bexhill when I left home at 9.15, getting progressively worse as I drove inland to the course. By the time I got there it was blowing hard and chucking it down.
Low rain cloud made it "one of those days" in Crowborough, and at times you couldn't see the end of the heather off the 1st tee. Had a pot of tea, a sandwich and a natter in the clubhouse in the vain hope that it would blow through, but it was getting worse if anything. Decided to give it a miss and all headed off in different directions home. The drive back to Bexhill was really bad, it was absolutely throwing it down...if nothing else, it convinced me that we had made the right decision. Poxy day.....

So lets look at the facts - you arrange a game at Brighton and it's canelled cos of fog! you arrange a game at Crowborough and it's cancelled cos of rain. Are you planning any other games??

I was caddy for our Daily Mail match and can't recall when I have been wetter and colder - swimming in the North Sea may have been more comfortable.

By the 15th our laughing in the face of adversity had a slightly manic edge to it.

Good news is that Lucy won the 17th to go one up and rammed in her putt for par and the win on the 18th - what a girl. Even better the team scored a 3-2 win to make the 3rd round.
