Inspired by a comment in the post about cart bags - what golf invention would you like someone to invent and take on Dragons Den?? ( and then get laughed off)

I remember the two irish dudes who invented the in car charger for golf trolley batteries and then told the Dragon's to stick their investment cause they didn't want to give up half their company. Seen this invention in AG for sale a coulpe of weeks ago!

There must be plenty of you out there who have had the thought - "I wish there was something that......" Whilst playing a round of golf.

The crazier the idea the better ! (it is Friday afternoon after all)

As the inspiration behind the starting of the thread I hereby claim 10% equity in any of the companies constructed with the purpose of producing and selling any of the ideas below... ;)

On a slightly more serious note I would love to see a hand held device that you could sit behind you when making a tee shot that would give you the same sort of information on your ball flight as a launch monitor, apart from anything else it would help you find where your ball has ended up. It would be a really cool gadget in my opinion although like most gadgets pretty unnecessary.

The only thing I'd like would be an attachment for carry bags so an umbrella could be affixed still upright whilst I played my shot. Saves the bother of having to keep putting it up and down between shots (if its breezy so it don't get blown away) and keeps the clubs a whole lot drier between shots too. The electric trolley seem to have this function and I think you can add them to standard trollies too

I've just realised that I posted this to the main forum even though it's a wee bit off topic. Sorry!

My invention.....

The Glasgow neds' golf bag?

Fake burberry print with cooler pocket for six cans of Tennents, External samurai-sword well and satellite tracking for when it gets nicked!

(To any angry weegies out there - I'm only kidding!)

I would invent a points system on which you would have to score a set amount to gain entry to this country rather than letting any one and every one in we are full!!!

Well ok i nicked in from Oz but it works for them(he he)

Ball tracking device

Night vision golf glasses for that round in a life time on the edge of dark

Balls that fly straight but spin when you shout bite bite bite.

Handheld automatic break reader for the ones you just dont know which way its going to go on the greens.

Force field that surrounds you to zap all the wasps and flys that seem to attack just as you go to hit a ball.

A 'station' that all players have to pass before entering the next tee box, it strips your clothes off and sirens sound if you neglected to fix your pitch mark / divot.

I'll go for balls that actually listen to instructions. And a laser type device that disables a car engine for 10 minutes that I can fire at drivers who seem to think the rules don't apply to them!!!!!

:)

Along the same lines, how about a gigantic boot that miraculously appears out of thin air and kicks anyone playing too slowly up the ar*e?

I can see it now:

SS2: "So Duncan, it's a gigantic boot that appears out of nowhere and hurries people along. I want £10,000,000 for 2.5% of the company."

Duncan Bannantyne: "I'm Out"

Something that plays canned laughter when I make a bad shot, but claps like mad when I make a good one. It could also shout 'get in the hole' on every par 5 tee.

a wrecking ball to use on buggys and the drivers thereof,
- especially the two that followed me round Friday afternoon(course jammed, nowhere to go) and though it funny to find the reversing switch when I was about to tee off.

needs to be same weight and dimensions as a golf ball but explosive on (second) impact.

Having played in all sorts of poor weather this summer we need a better scorecard than the ones we have used over 100 yrs.

With our technology expertise it should be eay to make a scorecard, like a Blackberry, where you imput the score on a LSD screen and just plug the device into your computer in the clubhouse using a USB port an downloading the info. Info stored and device wiped for use next time.
No more soggy paper scorecards.
