Its the 1st round of the Mens Doubles Knockout tomorrow at 7.30 and guess what? Its going to be blowing a gale again just like my desparate medal 2 weeks ago. But this time - just to keep it interesting its going to lash it down with rain. The Golfing Gods are just saving it up for me...

But never fear - I am a different thinker now. Keep the ball in play and don't rush. That's the gameplan.

Let you know tomorrow how it goes. I'm giving shots to the other 3 guys - 8 and 3 to the opponents and my partner gets 7. If I play like I can I'll wipe the floor with them all

in my dreams.................... :)

Life, it would appear, is back to some semblance of order as my partner and I won 3&1 with me playing a really good round. Apart from holes 2 and 3 where lost balls took me out of play, I finished 16 holes in 5 over par gross. Good job too as the other guys were playing well. My partner didn't have a good day but as it happens it didn't matter.
2 birdies and 2 more lip-outs for birdies mean the game is back from its vacation.
2 ex-Captains in the next round - loads of shots to give away but I actually felt no pressure today giving shots away. The others seemed to feel obliged to perform on their shot holes and then let themselves down - and I generally halved the holes with pars.
Life is good again.............
