Not sure if anyone watched the panarama on BB1 on Wednesday evening (or was it Tuesday) about Alberto Salazar being accused of doping his athletes etc...

I found it pretty interesting and wonder if any pro golfers have been micro-doping too?

The programme spoke of Lance Armstrong a bit as well. If anyone has any interest in this stuff, you should also check out 'The Armstrong Lie'.

Do you think any professional golfers will end up being accused of or busted for using performance enhancing drugs? It is becoming a much more physical game in recent years.

Well the PGA don't have a great record after the recent Vijay Singh deer antler controversy and seem to be quite guarded. The olympics next year could prove interesting though.

The answer in the past would have been no, have you seen footage of golfers from the past? Now however, golfers are more athletic, pumping up, looking for that extra 5 yards off the tee. A little something to give you that little extra, to keep you going longer in the gym? Yes touch is hugely important in golf but as distance off the tee becomes more and more important then golf needs to make sure it is clean. Anyone thinks golf can avoid this is naive.

i commented on this the last time it was raised, years ago they took beta blockers, Valium and other calming drugs to help the relax and stop nerves twitching over those little puts, could they do it now well yes they can if they have a medical exemption, prescription drugs are still ok as long as a medical certificate produced, look at the golfers who have undergone major surgery and still earn their living with the help of drugs.

Bear in mind I used to go to a little gym in Leicester where nobody was really an athlete - the steroid use was off the charts.

I can only imagine the pressure guys who compete must be under to be better than their competition.

I prefer not to touch the stuff, personally.
