-----Postal Scam 2010 :

Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

Getting billed that much seems unlikely, but the general concept is true, and should be watched out for.

Even some genuine delivery companies use premium rate lines to reschedule missed deliveries, so best to get on saynoto0870 and find the local number instead.

Smiffy, Google it my man ffs, every forum I have been on this past couple of months, this has been posted and then blown out of the water. My brother actually sent this to everyone on his phone list too.. the amount of abuse he got over it too.... warranted haha!

I heard Homer was caught out on this scam.
After half an hour, they hung up ;)

Fair play to Homer though the reason they hung up was to jump on a plane and join him and Smiffy for a four-ball at Royal Ascot! :D :D
