Didn't wana hijack the new Aimpoint thread , i was just wondering how many have worked out which is their dominant eye for putting and have you adapted it to your game .. and what did you think?

Im of the impression it helped my reading of breaks etc , ya stil have to putt the ball well tho, so its not a miracle cure or anything

When I realised I was left eye dominant I changed my putter and the way I lined up putts and although im not a good putter by any means im a lot better than i used to be

I read the green with my dominant right eye and also the line I then need to start my ball on. If I don't then usually I'll aim too far to the right and make some adjustment through the stroke. It seems after doing the one-eyed thing for a time my brain reacts and adjusts but then reverts back if I don't repeat it every once in a while.

I'm left eye dominant and play right handed.

Can't say it helped either way being honest.

Gives me a better way to line up using a line on the ball by that's about it.

I only have my left eye, so I guess that makes me left eye dominant:D Losing my dominant right eye hasn't really made any difference to my putting I don't think. It's probably the strongest point of my game.

Left eye dominant and have a check with my right eye closed to check the read that I have on the green. It has certainly helped. The other change was to start the putting stroke as soon as I've had one last look at the hole and not hang around!

I read up on it and tried the change to a centre shafted putter and it was instantly better

I also moved to an Odyssey 2CS putter but found it pretty much the same as my previous putter (Scotty Cameron Del Mar).

I'm still not overly sold on the idea that it plays a major factor.

Also dominant left eye so much so when i was kid they made me wear plastic specs with the left eye covered in masking tape to try to balance things out - how I hated those specs. Always known about it so always lined up/aimed with my right eye closed. If i try and line my self up with it open the results are not good. My problem is when I stand over the ball for putting or a full shot I always feel I'm lined up wrong cause both eyes are now open - have to force my self to trust where I'm aiming. Never noticed any difference between heel and centre shafted putters. I read that your supposed to put the ball directly under your dominant eye when putting but recently been having more success with the ball much further back in my stance.

Left eye dominant, left handed and play golf right handed.

The dominant eye always gives me problems during my set up routine and I have to line up the club from my belly button to make sure I know where the centre of the stance is. I used to think I was playing my driver with the ball around my left heel but in reality it was 2 or 3 inches right of that.

How do we figure out which is dominant? Alignment is something I think I struggle with on both putting and full shots.

Also might be a duh question but I take it I close the weaker eye when I find out the dominant?
