Thought I'd share my shot on our 1st hole today. Found the water hazard to the right of the green. Feet just on dry land (wet mud!) but ball in water though only half submerged. Wasn't sure if I could play it but figured I'd never know unless I tried so took my gap wedge, said out loud "hit it hard and don't quit" and smash, splash out it flew to land 10' from the pin. I was covered in goo, poo and pond slime but my playing partners were very impressed

My shot of the day by far and mucky splashes reminded me of it all day!!

All intact. One eye slightly wonky until the muck cleared my contact lens - perhaps why I missed the putt!

I nearly ended up in the water by accident today. Stuck my drive a couple of feet next to a water-filled ditch. Stance was on the edge of the ditch and fell backwards after impact, managing to dance and slip all over the place before finding my balance.

Naturally, a big group of visitors spotted me and ribbed me in the bar.
