During a discussion in the houses of Parliment today, a Tory MP is urging people not to put there dog poo in bags, but to " flick it with a stick" into the under growth. That way there will not be as many poo bags around the countryside.

I have another idea that might work. What about taking them home with you or waiting to put them in dog bins if and when you pass one.

During my new found hobby of walking, if there is one thing that gladdens me it is seeing all the dogs. if there's one thing that's grips my poo, it is seeing doggies bags hanging from branches, bottom of trees, under benches etc etc.

Taking the bags home wouldn't happen, that's why this has been suggested. TBH its better for the environment if people didn't pick it up if out in the countryside.

I always pick up after mine and put in the poo bin thats 100 yard on from the start of our walk. so many just lob the bag in the bushes which TBH defeats the object of picking it up in the first place and it then sits in a bag for the next 20 years.

Oh you lucky licky boy.... quick work on the edit :D

I was quite shocked by this suggestion. The answer is to A take the bag away and put it in a bin when you pass one. If you have to carry it for a mile then you do just that. B, if dog walkers are going on a particular route and there are no bins around then how about they put some in? Not tough is it.

There is never an excuse for hanging a bag on a branch, in a hedge etc. I have a dog by the way.

I will very occaisionally hang a poo bag on, say, a fence in the knowledge that I'll collect it at the end of my walk and dispose of it properly.
Those that hang them and leave them ought to be heavily fined.
It's wrong, it's disgusting and there is absolutely no excuse for it!

I think poo bags are brilliant, especially in the winter, best hand warmers ever :smirk:
