Does your local dump charge for disposal?

Plasterboard cannot go to landfill anymore (hasn't been for a while actually). Difficult to get rid of. Landfill site closing everywhere, hence hardcore disposal cost rising (and therefore charges). Not sure why anyone is charging for wood disposal. I'll have it and burn it for free....cough cough cough. LOL

From the beginning of June we'll be charged £30 for a car load of wood or £4 for a single piece!
There'll be even more fly-tipping in the lovely Surrey Hills, I just can't believe that the council can't work that out themselves!!

Thats because most of the fly-tipping happens on private land, and so the council budget for waste removal that isnt affected.
All they are doing is reducing their booked spending on residence waste.
You wait till they start to locally tax you to recycle stuff, wheres that Swedish girl and the pink boat when you want them;)

This is very true. I've had fly tipping affect us at work. The council are not interested as the industrial estate I am on is private land, not council owned land. It is our responsibility to deal with the fly tipping not theirs. I'm really pleased we pay our business rates for that sort of service :mad:
