Reason I ask is I had the opportunity for another quick go using one with a couple of drivers.

As per another thread my launch angle is way to low under 9.5*.

Tried a few with my driver and 9-11 degree launch avg 220 carry. Different head and a 12* and launch was avg 13* and avg carry was 245.

Here's the thing, I could visibly see my 220 yd carry landing at the same place- sometimes further- than the supposedly 245 yd carry. They were landing at a hoarding so its not as if its difficult to tell if it was just green grass.

20 more balls later and dispersion at 12* was great but def landing the same pace if not shorter yet flightscope insisting carry was well up.

Does it just 'calculate' it based on launch angle and spin?

My understanding.....

It can, and does, do both - I think depending on settings.

Indoors it tracks until ball hits net, then calculates. Outdoors it tracks flight, but calculates roll.

Trackman is the same, but does things slightly differently.
