I'm thinking of purchasing a small 2 bedroom bolt hole in the Murcia region of Spain as I'm sick of this weather.

Does anyone here have one and what's the pitfalls of buying a place abroad, ideally I'd like a place on a course.

The price is ridiculous at the moment with prices starting at €50000.

Mate's had one in Murcia for years - loves it. He's over the every month. And an indication of the weather - they've only missed one Xmas lunch outside in the last 10 yrs, and that was because it was too windy.

If its on a complex, don't forget to factor in the mgt costs.

We're hoping to buy out there this year.

dont own on a golf resort - but do own in spain - bought more than 10 years ago
no major issues - but if you want to fire some questions at me then PM me

with the state of the market in spain - i reckon you could negotiate half of that price!
most of these 'resort' type places will have some kind of annual maintenance charge on them, plus you'll have to pay wealth tax and local rates (much cheaper than UK council tax tho) and other things like water tax.

the one thing to beware of is the empty syndrome that seems to be happening with these places - you could be the only resident! and that would be spooky!

as i said - PM me if you have any questions about the whole process

;)
