Our Club has a rule that '4 holes have to be completed for the card to be considered to be part of the competition' & thus get 0.1 back.

Is this correct for A- Medal..... B-Stableford..... or Both?

Also... if someone signs-in but completes no holes is that included in the Competition & scored according to C-19

Yep, I've read APPENDICE P in the CONGU Manual & all I can say is ....... HELP!!:whoo::whoo:

As far as I am aware if you sign in to play and dont have a medical excuse then you would get 0.1 back unless of course the competition CSS was reductions only.

By coincidence, our medal last week was badly disrupted by rain, play was suspended at one point. One of the players had only played 3 holes before the suspension and didn't go back out. She got 0.1 back.

Such club rules are normally a reaction to local situations and are designed to help those administering the underlying system to easily resolve things in line with the principles of that system.

I've seen similar to this one implemented where people were seen to be building their handicaps by entering no cost regular events, playing a couple of holes then going back for coffee (or whatever) and completely agree with the club in such cases!

I would always suggest that they are written as guidelines against which the committee will consider rather than rules.

As long as more specific principles aren't compromised ( the cat 1 golfer that doubles the first couple of holes so walks off clearly shouldn't be excused his due 0.1 under such a club rule!)

Interesting, I thought once you had entered the competition via the computer it was valid for handicap and hence not returning a card was an automatic 0,1 increase.

Notwithstandng an abandoned competition or R/O.
