At the moment I am trying to teach the Mrs how to pay golf (maybe that story is for another thread)

Anyway, maybe it's a case of in the process of teaching a beginner it reminds me of all the things I should be doing.
After a busy nightshift the other day, I went out with a couple of mates & shot 35 on the front nine (par 70 course) my previous pb on the front nine was 39.
I tired on the back nine a little, but still shot a new pb of 81.

So maybe it's good to return to basics once in a while?
Or maybe it was just one of those once in a blue moon days?

Its part of the reason I quite like to give advice (if asked) to beginners and high handicappers. Helps to remind one self of what I should be doing also.

In a previous incarnation I did a few bits of teaching (including the most gorgeous Finnish au pair with glacier blue eyes but that's another story). It is one thing having a concept on what needs to be taught and quite another being able to convey that to the pupil. I am in awe of teachers in any profession as it is a difficult thing to do

I'd never give advice on the golf swing to anyone, I barely know what I'm doing myself
Same for me, don't know any basics at all and I really can't believe I have blogged it down to this handicap for so long. Having some lessons in the new year as I have reached my limit so wouldnt dream of giving advice.
